Dr. Jon Pearlman is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology, the founding director of the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals, and the Co-Director of the IMPACT Center which supports technology translation of assistive health technologies.
Jon received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University with a focus in Biomechanics and his PhD in Rehabilitation Science and Technology at the University of Pittsburgh.
Jon is a translational researcher focused on developing and improving technologies that support physical rehabilitation and improve the lives of people with disabilities. Jon will support the innovation, testing and commercialization of technology through Pittsburgh Low Vision Research Collaborative.
